Here in is contained the known and suspected history of the Great Wyrm Bronze dragon Teranyex, also known in as Crucible and Lord Governor Hogan Bight of Sanction during the Age of Mortals. For ease of reference his history has been broken up into the age of the world in which it was involved.

Age of Dreams

Hatching (~1700 AC - exact year unknown)
It is suspected that for much of his younger life Teranyex took to exploring the world, making use of his alternate forms to observe and help the lesser races of the world where he could. His first few hundred years spent in the time during the birth of nations, such as Istar, Sancrist and Solamnia.

During this period while spending time in his true form he took on the mortal name, Crucible, to those humans he encountered rather than his true name as is a common occurrence among dragons.

Third dragon War (The Human War) (1060BC – 1018BC)

For the majority of the third dragon war, the dragon’s stood apart not taking part in what was a largely human war. Indeed to most dragons the third dragon war would be known as the human war. Nevertheless although Teranyex did not actively participate until Huma rose in to prominence he did as many other dragons did, took on a human form and aided where he could indirectly, observing aspects of the war where he could.

When Huma’s call went out and the metallic dragon’s rallied to his cause, Teranyex joined with them in his true form to fight alongside human forces. Taking on a human rider (whose name has been lost to time) and utilizing one of the great dragon lances forged to take on the forces of darkness.

After the great victory and sacrifice of Huma and his beloved dragon Heart to bind the Queen of Darkness Takhisis and her Chromatic dragons, Teranyex and near all other Metallic dragons withdrew in lawful exile to their ancestral homes, the Dragon Isles in order to maintain the balance.

Age of Might

Life on Dragon Isles (1018BC – 292AC)

For many centuries the Metallic dragons enjoyed a golden age of prosperity, peace and coexistence with the lesser races that also called the Isles their homes. During this period for the most part the dragons of the Isles had little knowledge of the happenings beyond their shores bar that little knowledge gleaned from trusted travellers whom they had allowed to reach their isles.

Making his home on the Isle of Tayol, the isle which the Bronze dragon Clan called its’ home, Teranyex spent many centuries studying, exploring the workings of magic itself, creating great artworks and delving into a vast variety of knowledge.

During this great period of time it is quite possible that Teranyex took a mate, however little is known from the dragon isles and what may have become of such a union only Teranyex could say and it is not a time that he himself talks openly about.

Even as the dragon’s of the Isle’s slept more and more often, Teranyex was among those to notice the departure of the gods, though sheltered as they were none felt the true impact of the first Cataclysm on Krynn and before long Teranyex himself joined his brethren in slumber.

Age of Despair

The dragon’s oath (292AC-352AC)

Unaware as they slumbered that the eggs that had been stored away had been stolen out from under their noses, they were soon rudely awakened by an apparition of the Dark Queen herself and many were forced into an Oath to not intervene in the coming war for the sake of their unborn children.

The Broken pact and the War of the lance (352-353 AC)

Once proof of the Dark Queen’s grave deception and the horror’s she had wrought on many of their eggs, Teranyex along with great numbers of other dragons, enraged by these actions eagerly joined the fight, aiding the forces of light in overcoming the dragon armies.

Post War of the lance, Chaos War

Once the war had passed Teranyex spent a few years longer with the knights before once more he travelled the world in human and animal form. His travels took him far and wide, aiding where he could when the Knights of Takhisis rose to power and Chaos was unleashed.

He did not play an active role in the Chaos war itself; however he did what he could to aid from the shadows as his path found drew him to one place that he felt he could make a difference a place that had been the sight of great evil in the past, Sanction. After some time getting to know the city in other forms, finally taking on a face Sanction would recognise for a great many years to come, the mysterious and enigmatic Hogan Bight.

Age of Mortals

Post Chaos War- The taming of the Lords of Doom and the Governorship of Sanction (389AC-425AC)

As Hogan Bight, Teranyex was quick to proclaim himself Lord Governor of the lawless city. Few in the city opposed him directly as he showed his power in the Taming of the Lords of Doom, the ring volcanoes that surrounded the city, diverting lava, ash and smoke away from the city with his powers.

Bringing law where there had been little, forming a government where there was none. Teranyex brought a time of prosperity the likes of which the Sanction had never before seen. Outer influences ever sought to take the city back from his reigns; to that end he fortified the city, forming the powerful city guard and the Governor’s guards to protect Sanction from the threats of the many forces that wished sanction for their own. Keeping even the dragon lord Onysablet at bay through diplomacy and appealing to her scientific nature.

During the first few years of his reign he works to destroy the remains of the temple of Luerkhisis, the sight of the foul experiments the agents of Takhisis performed on the stolen metallic dragon eggs in order to form the Draconians. He formed an agreement with the surviving shadow people that resided beneath the mountains in Sanction.

In the years leading up to 419 AC and the Sailor’s Scourge outbreak Bight begins to suspect that the Commander of his bodyguard Ian Durne is a traitor.

Clandestine Circle 419 AC

Sailors Scourge takes hold in sanction after an infected ship sails into the harbor. The virulent disease spreads rapidly, in an attempt to combat the spread Bight put out a strict quarantine order until the Scourge could be stopped.

After having caught his interest Bight inducted Lynn of Gateway (Linsha Majere operating undercover) as a squire to his guards despite the wishes of the Commander. Lynn had attempted to save Bight from a diseased crew member aboard the infected vessel during the inspection of the vessel in question.

When asked to take a bodyguard to protect him when he was to leave to consult a contact he did not hesitate to take Lynn. That certain contact turned out to be Dragon lord Onysablet. The meeting, while brief and the journey itself proves fruitful. The journey allowed him to learn more about his newest bodyguard. Already he knew that she hid many secrets but is ultimately a good soul at heart. From Sable he learned a few hints as to the nature of the Sailor’s Scourge.

Gives Linsha an amulet constructed of a bronze dragon scale, one of his own, and enchanted with protective spells. Watched almost protectively over Lynn in his alternate tom cat form and made himself known to Varia, Linsha’s owl, who appeared to find it all so very amusing.

Is protected Linsha from an assassination attempt while he’s working his spells to control the eruption of the lava dome. Once complete he takes on his draconic form and saved Linsha in turn, slaying Ian Durne, healing Linsha and destroying the fleet of ships the knights of Neraka had sent to invade his city. Sinking every single ship they had sent.

In the aftermath of the attack, Teranyex, as Crucible shared a deep conversation with Linsha within her dream, with aid he returned her to his palace and put her under the healer’s care. Once she awoke he revealed that he knew her identity and offered her asylum under his care, knowing the lengths she had gone to in order to protect him. To which she politely refused and returned to her order to face her trial.

During the intervening time, Bight aided Linsha once more in putting a word in to the Solamnic’s that praised what Linsha had done for him.

Missing City 421

After receiving a call for aid from Varia, Crucible leaves Sanction to come to Linsha’s aid, and to help in finding the missing dragon lord Iyesta, an old friend of his.

Arrives to find the Dragonlord Thunder’s forces fighting a winning battle for control of the missing City, fights Thunder in a delaying tactic and receives a broken wing and torn membrane from brute attackers as he flees underground with the militia.

Situation is explained, Iyesta had been killed and missing city over run, by Brutes, after looking over the body of his dead friend he swears vengeance and takes Linsha and her trusted friend Lanther to check on the eggs Iyesta had entrusted to He and Linsha, Finding the dead body of the eggs mother and the eggs missing.

Joins the militia in their retreat, taking on his orange tomcat form to more easily conceal himself. Watching over Linsha in that form, and forced to remain, unable to return to Sanction due to his wounds.

A plan is hatched and put into motion, in which Thunder is lured underground and the Abyssal lance, the weapon used to kill the two Brasses is used against the large blue with the aid of Linsha and a small band of centaurs.

Crucible, wounded further during the fight takes on the form of the tom cat and is carried out by Linsha and they escape with the surviving forces.

Weeks pass and his wounds heal, soon able to take wing again, reluctant to leave Linsha but even more reluctant to leave Sanction to its own devices, he makes the hard choice to leave Linsha to return to Sanction.

(More) Trouble in the Missing City and capture by Tarmak’s

Varia comes to him once again has to decide once more between Sanction and Linsha, feels sanction was slipping away from him, sensing there would be something coming that would threaten to take Sanction from him, the choice forced him to decide between his city, and the woman he had come to care for. In the end he chose Linsha.

Travelling to the Missing city Crucible locates the captured Linsha in the Tarmak’s camp in the missing city, using his cat form to remain unseen. Though is lured into a trap by a traitor, who tipped off the Tarmak and used his caring for Linsha as bait, luring him into the open where he was struck by an Abyssal bolt while shape shifting. The Tarmaks held him captive by threat of harm to Linsha as well as their control over the bolt that could kill him if allowed to.

Unable to do anything but brood he was forced to travel alongside the Tarmak forces, and unable to do anything but watch as the Tarmak leader defiled and killed one of the brass eggs for a twisted ritual.

Before the battle with Militia forces was to be conducted the true traitor is revealed, Lanther, a supposed friend of Linsha and member of the Steel legion.

Crucible refused to fight against the forces of the Militia and lashed out at his captors, forcing Lanther to attempt to use the barb to end him. However Linsha arrived in time to save him from the bolt with aid from leaves of the World tree, in the process he had to shape shift in order for her to reach the bolt. This process revealed his true identity to Linsha and the Militia present at the time.

At her horror and fury at the revelation she sent him away from the fighting to the militia lines, having intended to join him later after dealing with Lanther. However before she could be reunited with him she is captured by Lanther and shipped off to the Tarmak homeland.

With the aid of the healers of the plains, Crucible recovered from the injuries suffered at the hands of the Tarmaks. With Linsha Captured he did all he could to aid the Militia forces against the Tarmaks.

When Varia heard Linsha’s call from afar the pair set off in search of her, and intended to travel all the way to the Tarmak’s continent, had they not come across Linsha and her companion Callista floating atop the body of the Brass Sirenfall, who had rescued them.

Tales were recounted between both Linsha and Crucible, after Crucible had carried them to safety and back toward the missing city. During this time Crucible made amends with Linsha and together they retrieve the eggs, whose hatchings they discovered had been accelerated artificially.

With the eggs so close to hatching Crucible took them to the volcano Flashfire for safekeeping. The traitor, Lanther, pursued them with his forces. The traitor drew Crucible into the open and during the encounter, brought him down with potent poison arrows before using the Abyssal lance on him, lodging it in his thigh. Fortunately not an immediately fatal blow, the timely arrival of Linsha had saved him from the killing blow.

Even as the events took place the gods returned to the world, Takhisis is defeated and killed. Lanther losing his power, Linsha with aid guides the eggs as they hatched, the newly hatched wyrmlings killed Lanther.

With the aid of Tancred the Abyssal lance is removed and Crucible healed.

The Aftermath of the War of Souls-

Together with the eight brass wyrmlings Crucible accompanies Linsha to Sancrist for her to report to her Solamnic superiors, convincing them to allow her to continue to watch over and take care of the eight wyrmlings

On their journey back toward Sanction, Bight, Linsha, Varia and the eight wyrmlings took a detour to Solace, the home of the Majere family. It was there that Bight and Linsha were joined in marriage before Linsha’s family.

Returning to Sanction he retakes his place as Lord Governor, few resisting his return to power after his mysterious absence during the great crisis that was the War of Souls. The Citizens taking one look at his true form and looking back on all he had done for them and welcomed him back.

Over the following four years, Bight restores the city in the aftermath of the war of souls, working in concert with the Solamnic knights and along with Linsha; he raises the eight Brass dragonets.

Not a day after the eight wyrmlings fateful encounter with a fire dragon and their success in saving Linsha after she had become trapped in a cave in, Bight was he taken from all he knew.
